Trail mixes are great to keep at your desk to snack on while working, and combines everything you need for a nutritious in-between meal: healthy sugars, fats and protein. But store-bought trail mixes are often both overpriced and loaded with unnecessary nonsense, so why not make your own with all your favorite berries, nuts and seeds? Just make sure to go for ingredients that don’t have any added sugar or salt, and an extra plus if they’re raw.
(makes 3 cups):
- 1 cup (130g) brazil nuts
- 1 cup (140g) almonds
- ¼ cup (30g) sunflower seeds
- ¼ cup (30g) goji berries
- ¼ cup (40g) dried cranberries
- ¼ cup (20g) toasted coconut flakes
- ¼ cup (30g) cacao nibs
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
Combine all ingredients and store in a ziploc bag, jar or container for up to a month.
